Our Leaders

...committed to raising leaders for the future

Junior coaches...are one of the club's most valuable assets. Many of our young players dedicate themselves not only to their own development but also to sharing their skills with other younger club members. We seek to give all willing juniors the opportunity to serve and learn how to coach. We strive to provide effective regular training for them both in terms of coaching skills but also in character development. Some juniors begin coaching whilst in primary schools with younger peers, whilst our open club programme includes juniors in Year 7 and above. Our juniors provide relevant and inspirational role models for those they coach. Please contact Alex Potter to get involved.

Team Coaches...the next level for our coaches is to work with teams that compete in leagues. Junior coaches can progress to become assistant team coaches and take a lead over our most talented players. We also have some passionate volunteers who help in coaching our teams. These include parents and previous players. To further equip these coaches a training is set up approximately every 6 weeks. This includes group discussion, feedback, and practical on court work as sessions are tailored to the needs of those involved.

Parents...have provided stable leadership for many of our primary school teams and beyond. Parents have consistently been committed to the success of many of the primary school teams, providing game coaching during league nights. On a 1/2 termly basis we provide training to teach and equip many of these volunteers. Parents also strengthen many of our team coaching groups. Stepping up and taking teams to matches against other clubs. Please contact Sue Mason for more information.

Officials...are vital to National league games, Prime Time and tournaments organised by Champions Academy and Brentwood Fire. Champions Academy are pleased to be developing a training programme for involvement on a variety of levels. Parents may begin tabling at a club session through to tabling at National League fixtures, each of which are valuable ways of contributing. Many of our young players learn how to referee and many have come to hold qualifications issued by England Basketball. Champions Academy are always looking to provide more training for new volunteers. Please contact Luke Mchugh for more information.
